Thank you for visiting! My name is Leonie and I started Hikers Van Life out of my passion for the great outdoors. I have found it challenging to find a one-stop shop for all the things I needed on my travels. So that is what I aim to do for those who have a similar lifestyle as me. On this site you can shop for specially curated items for camping, hiking, biking, climbing, backpacking, kayaking, pet hiking supplies and van supplies. Kitchenware, silverware, pots and pans, beds, flooring, curtains and all other things related to converting a van.
After going through some major life changes, my perspective on life has changed. It has re-aligned what is important. We all go through life changes, life happens, the difference is in how we handle our experiences. In my up-coming blog, learn about van life, tips and healthy eating on the road. I will pass along recipes and things I have learned along my travels. I'd love to hear from you at hikersvanlife@gmail.com.
Family is important to me and my daughter is always my driving force. She is my everything. Our decisions come with unique challenges, it is in how we handle these challenges that will ultimately decide if we thrive or just survive. I am working on thriving by bringing Hikersvanlife.com to help other people wanting to live the van life and helping them thrive as well. It's not only about finding everything you need for adventure and van life in one place, it's also about giving back, as we travel. We are often looked at as being homeless. We know it is a huge problem in every community. We also know that not everyone chooses to live this life, some do it by necessity. It is not an easy life style and comes with many misconceptions and challenges. By purchasing products from Hikers Van Life, we will start donating to the local food banks in each city we travel to. I will be blogging about this as well as our journey continues. We believe no one should go hungry. I appreciate you stopping by the Website and taking the time to read what we are all about. I hope you will find something in our store to suit your needs.
Living the van life for us is about seeing the world from a different perspective. We have climbed many mountains, we have accomplished 1,400 miles of the 1,700 miles on bikes on the Baja Divide. We have explored most of the National Parks, I have accomplished 45 of the 50 state high points. Garry has done 49, but has been denied on Denali twice now. You can read all about his adventures in his book called Chasing Summits. www.facebook.com/chasingsummitsbook
We have canoed the Okefenokee with the alligators and bears, we have enjoyed doing a few via ferrata's. We climbed Devil's Tower guided and so much more. I will be bringing these adventures to you in my blog as well. Stay tuned.
